ABOUT HORSE MANIA 2010
On July 15, the freshly painted fiberglass horses of Horse Mania 2010 will stride out of artist studios and workshops onto the streets of Lexington.
No public art initiative in our city’s history has captured the hearts and imaginations of Lexingtonians and visitors as did Horse Mania back in 2000. Horse Mania 2010 promises to be even more popular!
After their public viewing this summer and fall, the horses will be auctioned off in the Keeneland Sales Arena on December 11. Proceeds from the auction will benefit LexArts’ public art programs and non-profit charities throughout the region.
LexArts, the organizer of Horse Mania 2010, is a non-profit community organization that believes a strong and vibrant arts community enhances the quality of life in central Kentucky. Through its annual Fund for the Arts, LexArts raises millions of dollars to support local arts groups and programs.
